The Domestic Goddess is back. After the divorce, the trial and flirtation with American TV, Nigella Lawson is enjoying life once more and has a spring in her step.
According to friends, she is at least a stone lighter than she was last autumn, which is remarkable even by her standards. This autumn will see the 55-year-old publish her first cookery book for three years and there'll be a BBC2 series to accompany it.
Some credit her happiness to her freedom from art collector Charles Saatchi, who grabbed her round the neck in that now notorious incident outside Scott's restaurant in London which culminated in their divorce. But is that the sole secret of her weight loss?

She has had hypnotherapy sessions with Susan Hepburn to break her habit of overeating, and these — more than diet or exercise — have been the key to her losing weight and keeping it off, say friends. Each session costs £295.
Hepburn is also behind pop star Lily Allen's transformation from a size 14 to size 8.
Nigella has also been following the Bodyism Clean and Lean plan — a healthy eating programme devised by James Duigan, personal trainer and nutritional adviser to models Elle Macpherson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and actor Hugh Grant.
Supportive friends such as Downton Abbey actor Richard E. Grant have helped bolster Nigella's confidence.
'She quietly spent several weeks at his home in South-West London while her new home was being renovated,' I'm told. Their respective families have been close for years and they sometimes spend Christmas together.
Nigella, who now lives in a £5 million property in West London with her children Cosima, 21, and Bruno, 18, has also regained her sense of humour.
'Been writing all day (very happily, I should add),' she tweeted earlier this week. 'Made a quick batch of cookies for exercise. Now back to work...'
Trendsetter Edie Campbell posted a photo online with the caption ‘Isis chic’
A fan recently told her: 'A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.' To which Lawson retorted: 'And my hips are perfectly happy with that.'
'Isis chic' lands Edie in trouble
Trendsetter Edie Campbell has graced the cover of Vogue and appeared in campaigns for Burberry and Chanel.
But the 24-year-old model’s fans are unimpressed with her latest look: a scarf worn over her mouth, which Edie posted a photo of online with the caption ‘Isis chic’.
Cue outrage from her social media followers, who said that the vile violence of Islamic State shouldn’t be ‘glorified’.
Edie, who is dating Bryan Ferry’s son Otis, insisted it was a joke before bowing to pressure and changing the caption to ‘I guess not funny’.
She is reportedly planning a holiday in Niger, which the Foreign Office warns against due to terror threats.
